Meet Ryan Wegenast

From a free-flowing childhood through the cornfields of Nebraska to the Military to working in brain surgery, to the streets of Africa, the jungles of Peru, and his Ph.D. Ryan has lived many lives moving from one unknown to the next, in pursuit of learning to relax fully into his life, while curating a body of work that’s nurturing the human spirit forward. 4 ways to embrace life as a gift:

1. Welcome the Unknown

Releasing the hold of our minds and embracing the unknown is the first step toward living as though life is a gift. Instead of feeling constrained by time, shift your perspective to seeking more space in your life. Create moments of simply being, with no agendas or plans. In these moments, we can tap into the beauty of the present and find solace in the now.

2. Learn what it means to “owe nothing”

Nature teaches us a valuable lesson – it owes us nothing, yet it provides boundless beauty and sustenance. Just as the sun owes nothing to the Earth, learn to connect with the natural world and embrace the idea that life owes you nothing. In doing so, you free yourself from the weight of expectations and cultivate a sense of appreciation for the simple wonders that surround you.

3. Be a Student of Life

Life is a perpetual journey of learning and growth. Embrace the role of a student, allowing yourself to evolve with each experience. Just as the seasons change, so do we. By approaching life with curiosity and a willingness to learn, you open yourself to new perspectives and opportunities for transformation.

4. Stop forcing things

Observe the harmony of nature – the trees, the ocean, and all its elements. Notice the absence of force, and how everything flows in its own time. Contrast this with times when you’ve felt tense or forced. Shift into a state of neutrality, releasing tension and embracing the ease of life’s flow. Connect with your inner essence, allowing it to guide you in your endeavors.
