Lauren Galla-Rini has been in the event industry for more then 10 years. After 5 years of fully submerging herself in it, she had a burning desire to start her own company called My Beloved Events. Her wedding and event planning company focuses on bringing an elegant timeless design with exceptional communication and planning services to her clients. 

She has a passion for traveling and family and incorporates that into her business as it’s the foundation of her love for people and connection. 

Lauren’s Questions:

Q: What do I do if the clients who are hiring me don’t share the same style as me?

A: Be willing to say no to weddings that aren’t aligned with your brand. In the long run, having a cohesive portfolio will serve you and future clients better than taking on weddings just because they will pay you.

Also – know how to curate your work and pull out what you really want to attract. When your brand is clear to your clients, you won’t encounter as many inquiries that don’t align with you.

Q: How do I build relationships with higher end vendors so they can refer me? 

A: Create relationships with the vendors you really want to work with and then do collaborations with them. This allows you to not only prove your worth to them, but it also allows you to up level your portfolio to match the aesthetic you’re going for.

When reaching out to these vendors, make sure you’re positioning yourself as the expert that you are and position this collaboration as a really amazing opportunity (with full details mapped out) instead of as a favor or a job. This allows these vendors to get really excited and enticed by the opportunity so that they can’t say no. 

Q: What if these luxury vendors are still saying no?

A: If they’re still saying no, then take a step back and make sure that your idea is truly something unique and out of this world that will stand out and make a splash in the industry. This is truly what they’re looking for.

Lastly – If you’re struggling to get highly sought after vendors on board, whether they’re too busy, or what have you, I always recommend looking for other vendors who are maybe in a similar position as you… They have the talent, and they’re hungry to grow as much as you are. Oftentimes they’ll create even more outstanding work because they’re more invested in your vision.
