How I Got Hired by Sports Illustrated Magazine

We’ve all dreamed of it right, our BIG BREAK! We work hard and keep our heads down pushing forward….believing something big will happen, but never quite knowing when or how.

And then it happens.

And you cannot believe it’s real.

I remember the moment perfectly. I had just given notice at my day job and was having one of those rough days where I started questioning everything I had decided on. I started questioning if I had what it takes. Could I really leave that monthly paycheck? Could I really just take responsibility for all of my own finances and procuring my own jobs and hoping I would not be homeless in a few months. What if it didn’t work. What if I failed. What if I didn’t make it.

Yep, it was one of THOSE days.

And then, an email drifted into my inbox that changed everything. That email was from the Director of Photography for Sports Illustrated Magazine. THE Sports Illustrated!
